Twist Side Bridge
Description
The twist side bridge is a side plank variation with a rotation. The lifter holds a side plank and threads the top arm under the body to twist the torso. The rotation loads the obliques in a strong dynamic pattern and builds rotational core strength.
Equipment Required
Twist Side Bridge Instructions
- Lie on your side with the forearm on the floor under the shoulder.
- Stack the feet and press up into a side plank.
- Set the body in a straight line with the hips lifted.
- Reach the top arm up toward the ceiling.
- Thread the top arm under the body twisting the torso down.
- Reach as far through as possible squeezing the obliques.
- Twist back open and reach the arm up to the ceiling.
- Continue the twisting motion. Complete reps and switch sides.
