Description

The sled calf press on leg press is a calf raise performed on the leg press machine. The lifter sits on the leg press, places the balls of the feet on the bottom edge of the platform, and presses the sled with just the calves. It allows heavy loading of the calves.

Equipment Required

Sled Calf Press on Leg Press Instructions

  1. Sit on a leg press machine with the back flat against the pad.
  2. Set the platform load with the appropriate weight.
  3. Place the balls of the feet on the bottom edge of the platform.
  4. Set the heels hanging off the edge.
  5. Press the sled to extend the legs to almost lockout.
  6. Brace your core and unrack the safeties.
  7. Let the heels drop below the platform to stretch.
  8. Press the platform up by rising onto the toes squeezing the calves.
