Description

The lying hip straight leg raise is a foundational ab exercise. Lying on the back with the legs extended, you lift them straight up to vertical and lower with control to fire the lower abs and hip flexors.

Lying Hip Straight Leg Raise Instructions

  1. Lie flat on your back with the legs extended.
  2. Place the hands at your sides for support.
  3. Brace the core and press the lower back to the floor.
  4. Keeping the legs straight, lift them up toward the ceiling.
  5. Stop when the legs are roughly vertical.
  6. Squeeze the abs at the top.
  7. Lower the legs back down with control without touching the floor.
  8. Repeat for the desired number of repetitions.
