Cross Twisting Sit Up
Description
The cross twisting sit up combines a full range sit up with a torso twist at the top. The lifter sits up fully then twists to bring the elbow to the opposite knee. The full sit up loads the rectus abdominis hard while the twist hits the obliques.
Equipment Required
Cross Twisting Sit Up Instructions
- Lie on your back with knees bent and feet flat on the floor.
- Place the hands lightly behind the head with elbows out wide.
- Brace your core hard.
- Curl up off the floor into a full sit up.
- At the top of the sit up twist to bring one elbow toward the opposite knee.
- Squeeze the obliques hard at the twisted top.
- Untwist and lower back to the start with control.
- Alternate sides each rep.
