Description

The olympic barbell triceps extension uses a straight olympic barbell instead of an ez bar for an overhead tricep extension. The lifter holds the bar overhead and lowers it behind the head to load the long head of the triceps. The straight bar adds wrist demand.

Olympic Barbell Triceps Extension Instructions

  1. Sit or stand holding an olympic barbell with both hands at shoulder width.
  2. Press the bar overhead to lockout.
  3. Brace your core and keep the chest tall.
  4. Set the upper arms vertical pointing at the ceiling.
  5. Lower the bar back behind the head by bending the elbows.
  6. Stop when the bar is just behind the head.
  7. Press the bar back up to lockout by extending the elbows.
  8. Squeeze the triceps hard at the top.
