The smith seated one leg calf raise is a unilateral seated calf raise performed under a smith machine bar. The lifter sits with one foot on a block under the bar resting across the thigh. The bent knee position isolates the soleus.

Smith Seated One Leg Calf Raise Instructions
- Set a smith machine bar at the height of the seated thigh.
- Place a low block under the bar.
- Sit on a bench with the working foot on the block.
- Place the bar across the thigh just above the knee.
- Unrack the bar and let the heel drop below the block.
- Brace your core and keep the foot fixed.
- Rise onto the ball of the foot squeezing the calf.
- Lower the heel back down with control. Complete reps and switch legs.
