Description

The side step front plank is a dynamic plank variation that adds lateral movement. The lifter holds a high plank and walks the body sideways using both the hands and feet. The lateral motion loads the shoulders, obliques, and glute medius hard.

Side Step Front Plank Instructions

  1. Begin in a high plank position with hands under the shoulders.
  2. Set the body in a straight line from head to heels.
  3. Brace your core hard and keep the hips level.
  4. Step one hand and the same side foot out wide to one side.
  5. Step the other hand and foot to follow.
  6. Continue side stepping in the same direction.
  7. Keep the body in a straight line throughout.
  8. Reverse direction and side step back.
