Elevated Seated Calf Raise
Description
The elevated seated calf raise is performed seated with the balls of the feet on an elevated surface. The heels drop below the platform for a deep calf stretch then press up to the top. The seated position with bent knees biases the soleus over the gastrocnemius.

Elevated Seated Calf Raise Instructions
- Sit on a bench or chair with feet flat on the floor.
- Place a sturdy block or plate in front of you.
- Rest the balls of both feet on top of the block.
- Let your heels hang below the level of the block.
- Brace your core and keep your back upright.
- Press through the balls of the feet to lift the heels as high as possible.
- Squeeze the calves hard at the top.
- Lower with control back to a deep heel stretch.
