The standing single leg calf raise balance is a unilateral calf drill done without any support. Removing the wall or rail forces the foot and ankle to stabilize while the calf does the work.

Standing Single Leg Calf Raise Balance Instructions

  1. Stand on one foot with the other foot lifted.
  2. Set the arms at the sides for balance.
  3. Brace the core and keep the chest up.
  4. Allow the heel to drop slightly toward the floor.
  5. Press up onto the toes by raising the heel.
  6. Squeeze the calf hard at the top.
  7. Lower with control to the start.
  8. Continue for all reps then switch sides.
