Description
The prisoner half sit up is a partial range sit up with the hands clasped behind the head. The lifter sits up only halfway, keeping the lower back on the floor. The half range is a useful regression that protects the lower back while training the abs.

Prisoner Half Sit Up Instructions
- Lie on your back with knees bent and feet flat on the floor.
- Place the hands behind the head with elbows out wide.
- Brace your core hard.
- Curl the upper body off the floor.
- Sit up only halfway keeping the lower back on the floor.
- Squeeze the abs at the top of the half sit up.
- Pause briefly at the contracted position.
- Lower back to the start with control.
