The decline shoulder tap is a plank shoulder tap with the feet elevated on a box or bench. The decline angle adds more upper body load and increases the anti-rotation challenge while one hand taps the opposite shoulder. It is a strong core and shoulder builder.

Decline Shoulder Tap Instructions

  1. Place your feet on a sturdy box or bench.
  2. Set your hands flat on the floor under your shoulders.
  3. Brace your core hard and keep the body in a straight line.
  4. Squeeze the glutes to keep the hips stable.
  5. Lift one hand off the floor and tap the opposite shoulder.
  6. Hold the tap briefly without letting the hips rotate.
  7. Plant the hand back down and repeat with the other hand.
  8. Continue alternating taps with control.
