Description

The band standing straight leg raise is a standing hip flexor isolation move. The lifter loops a band around one ankle anchored low behind, then raises the leg straight forward against the band. It builds the hip flexors with constant resistance.

Band Standing Straight Leg Raise Instructions

  1. Anchor a resistance band low behind you.
  2. Loop the other end around one ankle.
  3. Step forward to take tension on the band.
  4. Stand tall with hands on a wall or chair for support.
  5. Brace your core and keep the standing leg straight.
  6. Raise the working leg straight forward against the band.
  7. Lift to about hip height squeezing the hip flexor.
  8. Lower back to the start with control. Complete reps and switch sides.
