Description

The seated neck tap is a basic side neck stretch performed seated. The lifter sits tall and uses one hand to gently pull the head sideways toward the shoulder. The pull stretches the side of the neck and upper trapezius.

Seated Neck Tap Instructions

  1. Sit tall on a bench or chair with feet flat on the floor.
  2. Keep the back upright and shoulders relaxed.
  3. Place one hand over the top of the head.
  4. Set the other hand at the side or under the chair.
  5. Gently pull the head sideways toward the shoulder.
  6. Feel the stretch on the opposite side of the neck.
  7. Hold the position and breathe deeply.
  8. Release slowly and switch sides.
