Description

The weighted side lying side neck raise is a neck strengthening drill for the lateral flexors. Lying on the side with a small weight balanced on the temple, the head lifts toward the ceiling to load the side of the neck.

Weighted Side Lying Side Neck Raise Instructions

  1. Lie on one side on a bench or floor.
  2. Place a small weight plate on the temple of the upper side of the head.
  3. Hold the plate in place with the top hand.
  4. Brace the core and keep the body relaxed.
  5. Lower the head toward the floor.
  6. Lift the head laterally toward the ceiling.
  7. Squeeze the side neck muscles at the top.
  8. Lower with control and continue for all reps then switch.
