Description
The seated flexion and extension neck stretch is a basic mobility drill. Sitting tall, you nod the head forward into flexion and back into extension to mobilize the neck through its full range.
Equipment Required
Seated Flexion and Extension Neck Instructions
- Sit tall on a chair or the floor with the shoulders relaxed.
- Place the hands on the lap.
- Inhale and slowly tip the chin down toward the chest.
- Feel a stretch along the back of the neck.
- Hold for a moment then return to neutral.
- Exhale and tilt the head back to look up at the ceiling.
- Feel a stretch along the front of the neck.
- Return to neutral and repeat for the desired duration.
