Description

The roll tibialis anterior is a self-myofascial release drill that targets the tibialis anterior on the front of the shin. The lifter rolls the front of the lower leg over a foam roller. The move releases shin tightness and is useful for runners.

Roll Tibialis Anterior Instructions

  1. Place a foam roller on the floor.
  2. Get into a quadruped position with one shin over the roller.
  3. Set the front of the lower leg on top of the roller.
  4. Support the upper body on the hands.
  5. Brace your core and keep the back flat.
  6. Roll the shin slowly over the roller from below the knee to the ankle.
  7. Stop on tight spots and hold for several seconds.
  8. Switch legs and repeat on the other shin.
