The roll ball external oblique is a self myofascial release drill for the side of the trunk. Pressing a ball into the obliques releases knots that limit rotation and side bending.

Roll Ball External Oblique Instructions

  1. Lie on one side on the floor.
  2. Place a massage ball under the side of the rib cage.
  3. Brace the body on the bottom forearm.
  4. Keep the upper body relaxed over the ball.
  5. Roll the obliques slowly over the ball.
  6. Pause on tender spots for several breaths.
  7. Cover from the bottom rib to the hip.
  8. Continue for the working time then switch sides.
