- Sit on a bench with a vertical back support.
- Position the barbell across your rear delts at the base of the neck.
- Grip the bar slightly wider than shoulder-width.
- Sit tall with chest up and core braced.
- Press the bar straight overhead by extending your arms.
- Continue until your elbows lock out at the top.
- Lower the bar back down behind your neck with control.
- Stop just before the bar touches your traps.
