Weighted Straight Bar Dip
Description
The weighted straight bar dip is a dip variation performed on a single straight bar. The lifter holds the bar in front of the hips with both hands and dips down with the bar against the body. The single bar forces a slight forward lean that hits the chest hard.
Equipment Required
Weighted Straight Bar Dip Instructions
- Hook a dip belt with weight around the waist or wear a weighted vest.
- Grip a single straight bar with both hands at hip width.
- Press up to lockout with the bar in front of the body.
- Brace your core and lean slightly forward.
- Lower the body by bending the elbows.
- Allow the bar to slide up the body slightly as you descend.
- Lower until the upper arms are parallel to the floor.
- Press back up to lockout squeezing the triceps and chest.
