Description
The stick standing twist stretch is a thoracic mobility move using a PVC stick. The lifter holds the stick across the upper back behind the neck and rotates the torso side to side. The stick keeps the shoulders aligned for clean spinal rotation.
Equipment Required
Stick Standing Twist Stretch Instructions
- Stand tall with feet wider than shoulder width.
- Place a PVC stick across the upper back behind the neck.
- Drape the arms over the stick to hold it in place.
- Brace your core and keep the chest tall.
- Set the hips facing forward.
- Rotate the torso to one side keeping the hips still.
- Continue rotating until the stick reaches the end range.
- Rotate back through center. Continue alternating side twists.
