Weighted Standing Twist
Description
The weighted standing twist is a rotational core move performed standing. The lifter holds a dumbbell at the chest and rotates the torso side to side keeping the hips facing forward. The standing position adds full body engagement to the rotation.
Equipment Required
Weighted Standing Twist Instructions
- Stand tall with the feet hip width apart.
- Hold a dumbbell with both hands at chest height.
- Brace your core and set the hips facing forward.
- Keep the dumbbell close to the chest.
- Rotate the torso to one side keeping the hips still.
- Squeeze the obliques hard at the end range.
- Rotate back through center and twist to the other side.
- Continue alternating side twists with control.
