Short Stride Run
Description
The short stride run is a cardio drill where the lifter runs in place with deliberately short strides. The shortened stride forces faster leg turnover and trains the calves and hip flexors. It is a useful warm-up and conditioning drill.

- Stand tall with feet hip-width apart.
- Set the hands up in a running guard position.
- Brace your core lightly.
- Start running in place with short choppy strides.
- Stay light on the balls of the feet.
- Keep the cadence fast and the steps short.
- Pump the arms in time with the legs.
- Continue the short stride run for the working time.
