Description

The lying flat hip raise is a reverse crunch variation with the legs straight up. The lifter lies on the back with the legs vertical and lifts the hips off the floor by pressing the feet up. The vertical leg position isolates the lower abs.

Lying Flat Hip Raise Instructions

  1. Lie on your back on the floor.
  2. Lift the legs straight up to vertical with feet pointing at the ceiling.
  3. Place the hands at the sides for support.
  4. Brace your core hard.
  5. Press the feet up toward the ceiling lifting the hips off the floor.
  6. Continue lifting until the hips are clear of the floor.
  7. Squeeze the lower abs hard at the top.
  8. Lower the hips back down with control.
