Description

The cable standing close press is performed standing facing away from a cable station with a close grip. Pressing the cables forward with a close hand position trains the triceps while the standing position adds core and leg engagement to stabilize the body.

Cable Standing Close Press Instructions

  1. Set both cable pulleys to chest height with single handles.
  2. Stand facing away from the cable stack with one handle in each hand.
  3. Hold the handles close together at chest level with palms facing forward.
  4. Step forward to create cable tension.
  5. Brace your core and stand tall.
  6. Press both handles forward until your arms are fully extended.
  7. Bring the handles together at the front of the press.
  8. Squeeze the triceps, then lower the handles back to chest level with control.
