Description

The cable shoulder 90 degrees external rotation is a rotator cuff drill done with the upper arm held at ninety degrees of abduction. The lifter rotates the forearm upward against cable tension. It is a strong external rotator builder.

Cable Shoulder 90 Ext Rotation Instructions

  1. Set a cable to elbow height with a single handle attached.
  2. Stand sideways to the cable.
  3. Lift the working arm out to the side at shoulder height.
  4. Bend the elbow at ninety degrees with the forearm pointing forward.
  5. Brace your core and keep the upper arm parallel to the floor.
  6. Rotate the forearm upward by externally rotating the shoulder.
  7. Hold briefly at the rotated position.
  8. Return with control. Finish all reps then switch sides.
