The basketball shot jump is a plyometric drill that mimics the motion of a jump shot. The athlete dips into a quarter squat and jumps straight up while extending one arm overhead like shooting. It builds vertical jump power and shooting form.

Basketball Shot Jump Instructions
- Stand tall with feet shoulder-width apart.
- Brace your core and keep your chest up.
- Hold an imaginary ball at chest level with both hands.
- Dip down into a quarter squat.
- Drive through the heels to jump straight up.
- As you jump, extend one arm overhead in a shooting motion.
- Land softly with bent knees on the balls of the feet.
- Sink into the next dip and repeat.
