  1. Lie on a flat bench with feet flat on the floor.
  2. Hold a barbell or EZ bar with a shoulder-width grip.
  3. Position the bar over your chest with arms extended.
  4. Brace your core and keep your back flat against the bench.
  5. Bend at the elbows to lower the bar toward your forehead.
  6. Keep your upper arms vertical and only the elbows moving.
  7. Stop just before the bar reaches your forehead.
  8. Extend the elbows to return to the start position.
