The roll kneeling upper back rotation is a thoracic mobility drill done from a kneeling position with one elbow on a foam roller. Rotating the torso opens the thoracic spine and releases the upper back.

Roll Kneeling Upper Back Rotation Instructions

  1. Kneel on the floor in front of a foam roller.
  2. Place one elbow on the roller with the palm up.
  3. Set the other hand on the floor for support.
  4. Brace the core and keep the back flat.
  5. Rotate the torso toward the supported elbow.
  6. Reach the chest open with the rotation.
  7. Hold the rotated position briefly.
  8. Return to start and continue for all reps then switch.
