Description

The punch step forward is a cardio boxing drill that combines a forward step with a straight punch. The lifter steps forward with one foot and throws a straight punch with the same side arm. The drill builds conditioning and trains coordination.

Punch Step Forward Instructions

  1. Stand tall with feet hip-width apart.
  2. Set the hands up in a guard position near the chin.
  3. Step one foot forward.
  4. Throw a straight punch with the same side arm.
  5. Pull the punching arm back to guard.
  6. Step the foot back to the start.
  7. Repeat with the other side stepping and punching.
  8. Continue alternating sides at a steady cadence.
