- Set up the vertical row machine with chest pad and foot platform in place.
- Stand with chest against the pad and feet on the platform.
- Grip the handles with palms facing up.
- Let your arms hang straight down with shoulder blades retracted.
- Brace your core and pin your chest to the pad.
- Row the handles up toward your sides.
- Squeeze the lats and biceps at the top of the row.
- Lower with control until arms are straight again.
