Description

The standing calf raise circle is a calf raise variation where the lifter rises up onto the toes and rotates the ankles in a slow circle at the top. The motion loads the calves through a wider range and works the small ankle stabilizers at the same time.

Standing Calf Raise Circle Instructions

  1. Stand tall with feet hip-width apart.
  2. Brace your core and keep your chest up.
  3. Press up onto the balls of both feet.
  4. Hold the high position with weight balanced on the toes.
  5. Slowly rotate both ankles in a circular motion outward.
  6. Continue circling for several rotations at the top.
  7. Reverse direction and circle the ankles inward.
  8. Lower the heels back to the floor with control.
