Description
The push up in child pose is a flowing movement that starts in a child pose with hips on the heels and arms extended forward. From there the body slides forward into a push up position and pushes up. The flow trains chest, triceps, and shoulder strength while opening hips and shoulders.
Equipment Required

- Start kneeling on the floor with hips back on your heels.
- Reach your arms forward and let your chest lower toward the floor.
- This is the child pose start position.
- Slide your body forward by straightening the hips and bringing the chest near the floor.
- Plant your hands and shift weight onto them.
- Push up to a full plank position with elbows locked.
- Lower into a push up with elbows tucked.
- Reverse the movement back into the child pose to finish the rep.
