Description
The eagle pose garudasana is a standing yoga balance pose where the arms and legs are wrapped around each other. One leg crosses over and hooks behind the standing leg while one arm wraps under and around the other. The pose deeply stretches the shoulders and upper back.

Eagle Pose Garudasana Instructions
- Stand tall with feet together and a slight bend in the knees.
- Lift one leg and cross it over the other thigh.
- Hook the foot behind the standing leg calf if possible.
- Cross the opposite arm under and over so the elbows stack.
- Wrap the forearms around each other and bring the palms together.
- Lift the elbows up to shoulder height.
- Sink down slightly to deepen the pose.
- Hold the balance and breathe. Switch sides.
