Description

The dumbbell seated front and back tate press is a hybrid arm builder. The lifter sits on a bench and performs a tate press in front of the chest then a press behind the head. The two-angle approach hammers the triceps from both the short and long head positions.

Dumbbell Seated Front and Back Tate Press Instructions

  1. Sit on a bench with a dumbbell in each hand.
  2. Press the dumbbells overhead to lockout.
  3. Lower the dumbbells in a tate press path with palms facing each other.
  4. Bring the inside of the dumbbells down to touch the chest.
  5. Press back up to lockout above the head.
  6. Lower the dumbbells back behind the head bending the elbows.
  7. Press back up to lockout again.
  8. Continue alternating the front tate and back press patterns.
