  1. Set up a smith machine bar at upper chest height.
  2. Step under the bar and place it on the upper back.
  3. Unrack the bar and step back.
  4. Set the feet shoulder width with knees softly bent.
  5. Brace your core and set the chest tall.
  6. Hinge forward at the hips with a flat back.
  7. Lower until the torso is parallel to the floor.
  8. Drive the hips forward to stand back up squeezing the glutes.
