Description

The cable donkey diagonal kickback combines the donkey kick with a diagonal kicking pattern, driving the leg back and slightly out to the side. The diagonal angle hits the gluteus maximus and medius simultaneously. It is a great accessory move for sculpting the entire glute complex.

Cable Donkey Diagonal Kickback Instructions

  1. Attach an ankle strap to the low cable pulley and to one ankle.
  2. Get on all fours facing the cable machine.
  3. Position your hands under your shoulders and knees under your hips.
  4. Brace your core to keep a flat back.
  5. Drive the working leg back and out at a 45-degree angle.
  6. Squeeze the glute hard at the top of the kick.
  7. Pause briefly at full extension.
  8. Return slowly to the start. Complete reps on one side before switching.
