Assisted Prone Hamstring
Description
The assisted prone hamstring is a passive hamstring stretch performed face down on the floor. A partner or strap lifts one leg up and back toward the head to stretch the hamstring of the lifted leg. The position keeps the lower back protected.

Assisted Prone Hamstring Instructions
- Lie face down on the floor with both legs straight.
- Rest your arms folded under your forehead.
- Brace your core lightly to protect the lower back.
- Have a partner lift one leg by holding the ankle.
- Have the partner gently raise the leg up toward your back.
- Feel a deep stretch in the hamstring of the lifted leg.
- Hold the stretch and breathe slowly.
- Lower the leg back down. Repeat on the other side.
